Ok, I had everything set up correctly on a fresh install of Graffiti 1.1.  Everything worked, site loaded, no problems. It exists in a subfolder off of my website root, has read/write, yada yada... it worked fine.

I then installed the Training theme. Copied its DB to the app_data folder, changed the config file to look for it, selected the theme as default in the site settings.

When I clicked "go back to site", everything worked perfectly. But, if I try to go directly to the site, it throws up this error:

"Your request could not be completed.

Either the site is offline or an error occurred. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you."

So to summarize, if I login in directly as admin, then click "go back to site", everything works, if I try to go directly to the site, it doesn't load and instead directly throws the generic error page.

Here's the link, in case it matters: http://eagledalebaptist.org/crosspointe/

Any ideas what I should do?

    Jacob,

Please set CustomErrors="Off" in your web.config.  Then we can take a look at the ASP.NET error message from your site and determine what is causing the problem.

     Done. Here's the error:

    Error 572 (Provider v. 3.3.1.50): Table doesn't exist:  graffiti_RolePermissions
    Line #: 1; Column #: 108

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

    Exception Details: VistaDB.Diagnostic.VistaDBSQLException:
    Error 572 (Provider v. 3.3.1.50): Table doesn't exist:  graffiti_RolePermissions
    Line #: 1; Column #: 108

Also, visit the site  http://www.eagledalebaptist.org/crosspointe/ for the full error page. Seems like the DataBase is missing something. If I am logged in as Admin, I can Go To Site and see it, but if I go to either the Users or Roles sections in the admin tools, it throws the same error. I haven't changed anything in the Training.vdb3 file, so am I the first with this problem or is there an easy way to edit/add the lines I need in a VistaDB file?

    Please help! :)

     Jacob,

It looks like Telligent hasn't had a chance to upgrade the training theme's database yet.  You should be able to run the data mover utility to upgrade the database and remove this error.

Instructions on using the utility can be found at http://graffiticms.com/support/maintenance/upgrading-a-graffiti-database/

Let me know how it goes.

I too am attempting to install the Training Theme... I followed your steps for using the DataMover.exe utility but I still receive the error...

Here is the connection string in my web.config:

This is going to sound harsher than I mean it, but I paid for the 1.1 upgrade, and I expected the new version to work with their own theme!

Does anyone know how to help? Or can Telligent just fix its own database?

What do I (we) need to do to get some tech support? What is the process?

    Thanks!

     Jacob,

I downloaded the trial version of vistadb (www.vistadb.net) and was able to edit the training database... I have an updated database that I can email you if you provide your email address.

I am in the same situation and would appreciate it if you could send me the upgraded database - or point me to Telligent's updated version.  Thanks in advance!!

Using DataMover.exe *will* fix the problem.  I've done it myself to help someone I know with the Training theme.  In any case, I'll work with the developers to get the correct database into the download.
