I would like to use Graffiti to set up a website for a small business.  Currently the website is "hard-coded" in asp.net, and I want to move to CMS, as well as for the first time enabling a shopping cart facility.

Is there any plans at all for a shopping cart facility out there (ideally with integration to Google checkout or Paypal?), if I waited for it?  This seems to be the one area of Graffiti where I'm struggling to find any information (or even discussion on the topic!)

     Thanks

I remember many many months ago someone at Telligent (Scott maybe?) said one of the developers was putting together a very simple canned shopping cart theme and would make it available "soon".  I never saw anything come from that - don't know if the developer scrapped the idea, or if it was released somewhere (I know it's not in the marketplace though).

Speaking of the marketplace - I'm really surprised at the lack of themes, add-ons and plugins.  I thought that would have been a huge appeal for the product... having such an easy way to change themes, add new features, etc.  I thought people might even be able to sell custom themes in the marketplace - or Telligent might have a few "premium themes" available for sale.  I must say, I'm a little dissapointed.

     Hi Lesley-Ann,

Did you ever arrive at a solution for your application?

I am considering undertaking a development for a shopping cart add-on. I am interested gauging the market for such a product.

I would also like to hear from other folks who might be interested in such a product.

    Hi there

The solution was not to use Grafitti unfortunately.  However I am still evaluating grafitti for another website, and I know that would also benefit from shopping-cart style features.... possibly not to actually buy product, but to at the very least have a consistent way of adding new products and lines to the database.

I'm strugging with having decent content update for a business website (where there are multiple categories, menu bars are more than single level etc), with having a great style.  Grafitti offers style, but is not business-oriented enough.

Dissapointed is the exact right way to put it. Telligent seems to have let all there products other than Community Server die. Just look at Blog Mailr and nothing has changed in 2 years. I have no problem with this, if Telligent wants to be an Enterprise only shoppe that is cool, but don't build first generation products, through them out there as being the next best thing since sliced bread, and then silently ditch them. If you are going to ditch them at least let everyone know you are ditching them you are doing so and if you are really nice turn the product/code over to someone else or make it open source.

Graffiti 1.1 is a great start. There are many things that I like about it, but it is 1.1. We really need (should have already seen) a 2.0 version and like keymastr said many more themes, plug-ins, widgest, etc. from the marketplace.

I see you made this post 2 months ago and nothing has changed. I wish Telligent would at least be decent enough to tell the community and their clients what is going on. I am having trouble justifying purchasing any more licenses of Graffiti when it seems like it is a dead product.

    Thank you!
