Is it possible to set up two columns for the post area where the post Body is shown in the left column and the Extended Body is shown in the right column? (I am only thinking of the post main content - not sidebars)

I also noticed that there are 3 standard templates in the editor, which I might end up using if the above suggestion is not possible. Is it possible to add standard templates or alternatively edit the existing ones?
