I sernt an email asking if the project was dead and heard the same answer, we're busy working on 2.0.

If they want significant buzz around their product they need to communicate.

And I think it is getting worse!

In this post (http://support.graffiticms.com/p/205/3315.aspx#3315) Scott mentions that the forums functionality is scheduled for a spring 2009 version. I don't know if this is version 2.0 or version n.x.

What I am sure now, is that I am not sure any more about Graffiti as a sure bet :-). And this lack of information and misleading posts is making me very nervous.

    Yeah, not very promising.

Is Graffiti a Telligent side project that is still being tested and not throwing any more resources at it?  If so I wouldn't have spent $99 for a license to take off the logo (without being in the wrong).   I may be the only one but I did buy it to test the reporting and so called "workflows" and the site puts it.

I hope they have more then 1 developer working on this product.

Yeah a large update is warrented to the community.

I by chance joined in at one of the early betas and it had been a fruitful coop between the community and the Telligents upto v1.01 or even v1.1. But now I'm sitting here, still without the forum (be it in v2 or whatever release) which was originally announced for Q4. I intended to use this package for some of my customers but for now I feel lucky I only got 1 (one) license for myself. But have I spend my time in vain?

Telligent got this Intel Capital $20 Million Stake. Maybe they now feel obliged or are forced to concentrate all resources on CS2008.x (anyway hope SP1 gets out soon ;-). But CS is overkill for smaller (and mostly sharedhosted) projects. So I'm left no choice but to start looking for alternatives, am I ... ?

Where's the roadmap, please? Don't let this/us starve to a slow death.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    My Graffiti Dev Specs: v1.0.1 • re-doable based • Local: XPpro MSSQL2005 / Shared hosting: Win2003 MSSQL2000 • IE7

Want to talk dashed hopes?  I thought GraffitiCMS was the future for home oriented websites and small businesses.  I actually jumped in during the beta and bought at the special pre-release price of $99 per 10-user license and bought one for myself, even though you really don't need a license for what I'm using it for.  Worse, I bought 15 or 20 more licenses (I lost count) that I intended to either resell to the community, or sell to clients.  Well, many MANY months later, I have done nothing with my licenses.  I sold 5 for a very small profit, sold another 10 at my cost, and I think I have 5 left.  That's sad actually.  I was only able to sell 10 licenses at $100/license even after Telligent upped their price to $399 (this was before they came out with the $99 license option).  Now I have 5 licenses - the 10-user ones, that I have no idea what I'm going to do with.  No software updates from Telligent, not even a blog entry to say something as simple as "hold on guys, ver 2 is in the works".  I can't even get simple answers to my questions from the community ... seems people stopped reading the forums.

Disappointed is an understatement. I was so excited about this product.. and I've been holding on to hopes of v2 coming and wowing us all. Well, I am really feeling like that just isn't going to happen. When/IF v2 comes out, I have a bad feeling it's going to disappoint, much like v1.01 did.  It's probably not going to have that wow factor, probably no shopping cart, no more themes or plugins, no visual changes to speak of.  My only (last?) hope is that some of that 20mil investment makes it into the GCMS product line... it desperately needs funding and FOCUS.

One more quick rant.  Telligent can't even update their marketplace with themes and widgets that are already available online?  I mean, how hard is that?  You've got people like Dave Stokes, Rich Mercer, Dana Coffey all making great simple themes that could be added to the marketplace.  You've got the Graffiti Extras project.  Why can't someone put those all together in the marketplace??  Instead, I have to read 10-15 different blogs to see what the hell people are doing, if anything, with regards to GCMS.  Many people that were in it from the beginning have dropped off or haven't created anything for Graffiti in a very long time.  Ugh...

Sad.... Just Sad.... I hate to think this way but it seems like they lanched this product to inflate thier customer base and sales for Intel...

Prove me wrong Telligent.... How about a product update... How about anwsering these posts... How about a roadmap on where this product is headed.

I am starting to regret purchasing CS 2008 and Graffitti...

All my e-mails have gone unawnsered even sales has no response....

I have jumped off the sinking ship and swam over to Joomla.  It has much more features and support!

That's funny... I looked at Joomla alot (also drupal) when I stumbled on Graffiti and thought I found "the one".  I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump ship just yet though... but I'd be interested in hearing how things go for you moving to Joomla.

Me too.... I posted in another thread to see if there was any sort of "export" capability.

I really like Graffiti and the way it uses Widgets and Themes.... but if its not going to be well supported and documented I dont want to be left hanging.

This is really not good for Telligent.

Just found these threads. I also bought a commercial graffiti license. Was sold on the product and planned to build site using this product, but as a non-programmer, have need to reach out for help. Having reviewed most online info, I emailed Teligent for developer resources to help and the answer I got was "At this time I do not have any personal recommendations. Your best bet is probably to ask in our forums" I have not seen any response by any Teligent staff in this thread. Hope Rob Howard (CEO) is watching. You are guilty by commission OR ommission.... if you guys are moving forward with this product please at least let your customers and advocates know. Some have to make business decisions which are important to them. I am at that point with this product. If Graffiti is now in the mirror, fine...at least offer us the courtesy of communication so we can focus on the road ahead..with or without you!
